Say “Yes” To Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman

What Rick Wakeman calls the “Holy Trinity of Yes” are reuniting for the first time in over two and a half decades, and will be touring North America in October and November, before travelling across the globe to perform some of Yes’ most iconic material. Billed as “An Evening Of Yes Music And More”, the Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman (ARW) tour will kick off on 4 October, at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida, with the US leg winding up on November 29 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon. After a breather, the group will head to the UK for what is currently planned as a run of nine dates, starting at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena, on 12 March 2017, before stopping off around England and Scotland throughout the rest of the month.

Along with the late Chris Squire, singer Jon Anderson co-founded Yes in 1968, and the group achieved some of their earliest success after Rick Wakeman joined on keyboards, in 1971, for their fourth studio album, Fragile. While the 70s saw them travel to the furthest reaches of the prog galaxy, in the 80s the group refashioned themselves as an arena-ready pop-rock act, thanks in part to guitarist Trevor Rabin joning the line-up.

It was only in the early 90s, however, that these three iconic musicians performed together, both on the Grammy-nominated Union album of 1991, and the tour of the same name. Bridging each of Yes’ key eras, from its fledgling days through to its later incarnations, Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman provide a true throughline of Yes’ varied history. Their reuniting is, as Wakeman says, “very much a dream come true”.

Rabin adds that each of the members are “completely dedicated to this project” – a statement wholly supported by the fact that the trio are currently recording new songs together. Calling the opportunity “a treasure beyond words”, Jon Anderson notes that revisiting classic Yes songs while simultaneously creating new music with his former bandmates is “going to be a musical adventure on so many levels”.

Tickets for the UK concerts will be on sale from Friday 24 June, at 10am, from myticket.co.uk and seetickets.com. Click here to see the full list of global tour dates and to purchase tickets for all of the group’s shows.
